Campus update

Taking Time for Wellbeing

On Friday 9th October, our campus came together to recognise Mental Health Awareness Day, taking time out of our usual routines to focus on wellbeing, self-reflection, and caring for ourselves and others.

Classes explore what mental health means, ways to manage emotions, and the importance of talking about their feelings. They made stress balls, explored sensory resources, and identified activities and items that help them feel calm, regulated, and supported. These hands-on activities encouraged valuable conversations about self-care and the different ways we can look after our mental wellbeing.

Learners were welcomed by thoughtful wellbeing messages displayed on classroom doors across the campus, reminding everyone to be mindful of themselves and others. Some classes also spread kindness by creating and sharing 'Thank You hearts', each containing a positive message of appreciation, helping to foster a culture of gratitude and belonging.

It was wonderful to see learners and team members embracing the day with such enthusiasm, compassion, and reflection. Together, we continue to build a community where wellbeing matters and where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported.

At West Lea, every family deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and heard. Scroll down to complete our Family Belonging Survey by Friday 6th November 2026 and help us build an even stronger school community.
