Campus update

Making a mark in Maths!

Lessons are in full swing and students have started this year's curriculum.

Students learn in groups, with their peers, who are all at similar levels of ability. This allows them to work and problem solve together.

Maths is key in helping us understand the world and other subjects, such as science and music.

Many people say that they are not good at Maths. If you think of Maths, as a puzzle with numbers, you will see that it is actually really fun!

This term, some of our learners are beginning to recognise numbers, and counting up to 10. To help your child at home, you might ask them to count out forks and spoons for you.

More advanced learners are focusing on negative numbers and relationships between numbers. A quick game to play at home is "What number comes next?" or "What number is missing?".
Here is an example for each game: 10,13,16,19,? or 8,11,?,17

We would love to hear your ideas for helping learners with Maths at home.
