Black History Day

What a vibrant and enriching Black History Day we had on Thursday, 17th October!

Our learners researched important black personalities and shared their findings in assembly.

The school was alive with the sounds of Caribbean and African music. There were varying era's and styles.

Our young musicians discussed the instruments and emotions created by these tunes. Some classes even composed their own pieces.

Art was in the spotlight too. Learners looked at work from Jean-Michel Basquiat. They then recreated artwork in his style.

The playground exploded with cultural celebration during lunch.
Staff and learners dressed in cultural outfits and colours. It was amazing to see the celebration of different cultures through style.

These experiences broaden horizons. They also foster a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures. It is important for our learners to respect and understand the wider world.

It's moments like these that make our school community truly special!
