Ready, steady, print!
Last Friday, Fox class embarked on an exciting print-making workshop. This year, every class will be able to spend a day with our visiting art teacher to explore this creative technique.
The day began with a discussion of the artist Andy Warhol. Learners looked at his famous tinned soup and Marilyn Monroe prints.
Our learners then selected their own images and were taught how to make a printing plate. They then made colourful prints. Some learners pushed their creativity further by adding layers to their original designs. The French fries and dog images showcase this layering technique!
The visiting artist was very impressed with Fox class's artistic talent and enthusiasm. In two week's time she will work with Gallagher class and we look forward to seeing their work.
As half term approaches, why not visit one of London's modern art museums? See if you can find artwork in the styles our learners discovered.
Finally, a reminder that class teachers will be in touch to arrange Progress Update appointments. These will take place on either Monday 20th October or Wednesday 22nd October.
