Campus update

Mental Health Day

I was fortunate enough to spend Mental Health Day with Nichols class and take part in all their lessons.

We began with mindful reading during phonics, revisiting a familiar story. Learners explored characters' emotions and motivations, practising their active listening skills.

Ms Sinclair then facilitated a rich discussion about mental health support strategies. Nichols class shared some of their fantastic techniques:

  • spending time with friends and family
  • drawing
  • exercising or walking
  • resting

In the afternoon, we did some exercise to boost our mood!

After an intense warm-up, we played some exciting speed and agility games. We finished the session with team activities.

I left that day with a big smile. Thank you, Nichols class for allowing me to spend this year's Mental Health Day with you.

Finally, don't forget - Progress Review meetings take place next week on either Monday 20th or Wednesday 22nd October.
