Fury class have begun a new supported work experience placement, where they are developing their making and enterprise skills.

Working alongside professional printers and West Lea staff, they will be taking part in a range of activities to create a series of personalised gift packs. These will be sold for special occasions such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.  

Their work experience is taking part at BloQs – an open access maker and community space, which has many tools and equipment available.  Gaining experience in a real work setting is a great way to prepare learners for future employment.  

We hope you enjoy the photos of their first day showing how they learnt how to design, cut and create their designs ready to be applied to a variety of products.  Each student created their own personalised notepad and will be applying the skills they learn to the items they produce for sale in the future.
