Sports Day 2026 at Lea Valley Athletics Centre
Learners enjoyed an unforgettable Sports Day at the prestigious Lea Valley Athletics Centre, competing on the very same track and field arena that has hosted some of Britain’s greatest sporting talent.
This world-class venue welcomes Olympic and Paralympic stars including Greg Rutherford, Jonnie Peacock, and Dina Asher-Smith. Adding to the excitement, some of our keen-eyed learners spotted British sprinter Adam Gemili, alongside current Team GB athlete Desiree Henryand German Paralympian Felix Streng as they trained at the centre.
With only a handful of indoor athletics tracks across the UK, we were incredibly fortunate to spend the day in such an inspiring setting. Following in the footsteps of elite athletes, learners enthusiastically took part in a range of track and field events, including the 60m sprint, shot put, javelin, and boccia.
While there were plenty of impressive performances on display, our gold medals celebrated much more than sporting success. Awards were presented to learners who demonstrated our core values of being Ready, Safe, and Kind throughout the day.
The standout feature of the event was the incredible kindness shown by our learners. From cheering teammates to supporting one another through every challenge, the day was filled with encouragement, resilience, and team spirit, making the sports day a fantastic celebration of both achievement and character.
