Exploring Careers in Hospitality at Rosewood London
Learners studying Catering and Hospitality recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the prestigious Rosewood London Hotel, where they were given an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour by Executive Head Pastry Chef, Mark Perkins.
During the visit, they explored a range of areas across the hotel, including the staff canteen, the famous Pie Room, the Holborn Dining Room kitchens, the pastry kitchen, and the dedicated chocolate room. They also admired the hotel's stunning architecture, including its magnificent marble staircase, and visited the award-winning Mirror Room, home to the renowned Art Afternoon Tea.
The experience provided valuable insight into professional kitchen environments and the wide range of careers within the hospitality industry, bringing classroom learning to life.
Throughout the year, the group has shown fantastic progress, developing greater independence, stronger practical skills, and increased confidence. Several learners have already secured relevant work placements and opportunities in further education. One learner, Reece Ruskin, has been gaining valuable experience working weekends in a local fish and chip shop and is looking forward to continuing his catering journey at college.
The visit was a fitting celebration of the learners' hard work and demonstrated how meaningful industry experiences help prepare them for successful futures beyond school.
