Campus update

Farewell to our KS5 leavers

I enjoyed spending time with our KS5 students last Friday. This was their last day of the academic year.

For some it was also their last day at West Lea as they’ll be moving on to college in September.

We held a leavers celebration event alongside our annual achievement assembly.

Our leavers donned their graduation gowns. They also received a certificate of completion to mark the end of their KS5 journey.

Other students also received recognition for their achievements. It was great to see the skills and progress students had made. They got 'SkillsBuilder' certificates for problem solving, teamwork and leadership.

We introduced a new and special award this year. The James Kelly literacy award, to recognise outstanding achievement in English lessons.

Then, there's our Be Ready, Be Safe & Be Kind awards. These embody the West Lea way and are very important to our learners.

Other awards included: a Jack Petchey award and an Everybody Loves Music award.

There was a real sense of pride and achievement. We are very proud of our learners, especially all the progress they have made. We hope you enjoy the photos from this lovely event.
