Supported interns make a great first impression to employers.

It was a pleasure to host the annual SIP Job Fair at our new Ponders End site this year. 

It was an exciting opportunity for a new cohort of supported interns. They met with prospective employers offering work placements.

It was also a chance to find out about the different industries they could work in.

Interns dressed smartly and arrived with confidence. They made a great first impression to the employers.

We saw them make their way around the room introducing themselves.

The employers included: Greggs, The Athenaeum Hotel, Taylor Woodrow, CBRE at Google & Thames Water, plus many more!

We are extremely grateful to our inclusive employer partners. They continue to commit to diversifying their workforce.

Working with us as part of their recruitment strategy means young adults can flourish.

The next step is the job matching process.

Leane Bosquet (our Employer Engagement adviser), and job coaches, liaise with interns and employers.

They work to match interns with employers based on their needs and desires.

West Lea’s supported internship programme has consistently strong employment outcomes.

80% of interns get a paid job by the end of this one year programme.
