Campus update

Students have their say

Pupil voice is an important part of personal development.

It involves us listening to students and encouraging them to take part in the school's decision making process.

It helps students to engage in the wider school community. And prepares them for adulthood and for having a voice in their local community.

Each class has elected two school council representatives. School council meetings take place on a regular basis, and the council helps us to shape and improve our campus.

Mr Gibson is our Leader of Learning for personal development. He leads the school council meetings.

At the first meeting, the school council representatives talked about their roles and responsibilities.

They also discussed the transition to our new Ponders End site. They said that they felt supported by staff and are enjoying their lessons.

They made some great suggestions about extra lunchtime clubs, including friendship and computing clubs.

And they asked for more equipment for lunch time use, such as a table tennis table and outdoor furniture.

Lunch is a hot topic at the moment. Many learners said they enjoy being able to have lunch independently. Others would like to make changes to school dinners.

We are going to seek the views of all students through a school dinner survey, so everyone can help shape the menu going forwards.

Throughout the year, the student council reps will collect and share feedback from their peers on many topics.

We are always open to discussions with parents/carers, students and staff. Please do get in touch if you would like to make any suggestions.
