Work Experience at The Athenaeum Hotel
This year, the Horizon team has partnered with a new employer - The Athenaeum, a luxury 5-star hotel in the heart of Mayfair.
Our Pre-interns have been gaining valuable work experience, getting a taste of what it's like to work in central London. They've been commuting together on public transport and diving into their roles with enthusiasm.
In the domestic team, students have been been busy polishing, vacuuming, and dusting, ensuring the corridors are welcoming for guests.
They've also been hard at work in the prestigious kitchen, maintaining high standards by polishing cutlery and plates, and folding napkins. While these tasks may seem small, they play a big part in keeping the hotel running smoothly.
The weekly contributions from our learners are making a positive impact, and we're so proud of their efforts. They receive fantastic support from both The Athenaeum staff and the Horizon team.
Work experience in a real-world setting like this helps prepare our Pre-interns for Supported Internships and gives them the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.
They’ve had a great start at The Athenaeum, and we're excited to watch them continue to grow.
For now, we wish all students a restful half-term break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next month.
