Campus update

Let’s ‘choose respect’

This week is Anti-Bullying Week 2024. The theme this year is ‘Choose Respect’. Students and staff have been focusing on respectful relationships. They’ve been discussing what bullying is, and what respect means to them.

This has coincided with the launch of "Horizon Hang Out clubs". The following clubs are available to Horizon students:

Lunchtime clubs (1.00-1.30pm)

  • Computer club (Mondays)
  • Board games (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
  • Friendship club (Fridays)
  • After school clubs (3.10-4.00pm)
  • Fun fitness club (Tuesdays)
  • Arts & Crafts (Tuesdays)
  • Sports club (Thursdays)

These clubs promote social interaction and the development of personable skills. They are also a practical way of learning how to respect one another whilst having fun with their peers.

The anti-bullying alliance have created a poem called Choose Respect. You can carry on the discussions at home using the poem to inspire a conversation with your young person.

We Choose Respect
