It’s off to work we go!

This half-term, interns are beginning their work placements.  It’s been great to hear about how well they are settling in already. 

At this point in the year, our Job Coaches are very busy supporting interns in work. Their role is to help them learn the tasks expected of them in their job. They break down and model tasks in manageable steps. This enables interns to learn at a pace that suits them. 

One of my highlights this week, has been seeing the joy on the face of an intern. He had been preparing a batch of visitor lanyards. Having the initial support from his Job Coach, he was later able to do this independently. His huge smile showed a great sense of achievement!

Job Coaches support employers to carve out roles that will benefit their business. This gives interns the best possible chance of getting a paid job as they reach the end of their internship. 

I am excited to hear about their experiences at work. More and more interns are beginning their placements throughout the term.
