Campus update

This Wednesday, we welcomed HIT Chef Academy to our site. They delivered a pop-up kitchen workshop with pre-interns.

The purpose of the workshop was to help students develop cooking skills in a fun and engaging way.

Pre-interns learnt how to prepare chicken, make flatbreads and create sauces and accompaniments. They got to work with professional chefs to gain some hands-on experience. Learning essential cooking skills is an important part of becoming independent.

The workshop took place in our training kitchen at Horizon’s Ponders End site. The kitchen is comparable to a commercial kitchen. This helps students to be better prepared for a job in the real working world, if they chose to work in this sector.

HIT Chef Academy are well known in the catering industry. They provide high quality training for budding chefs.

We hope our pre-interns have been inspired to consider a career in catering and hospitality!
