National Careers Week in action at Horizon

This week marks National Careers Week (NCW) taking place across the UK from 3rd till 8th March 2025. NCW is a one-week celebration of careers guidance.

We hosted a series of activities to showcase different career pathways. Mr Gibson, Leader of learning for personal development, created a wonderful programme for the week.

Ms Bagley, Preparing for Adulthood Coordinator, coordinated lots of fun activities to inspire our students.

Activities included:

• a campus assembly introducing national careers week
• an industry exploration morning
• a careers fair
• interactive lessons linking subjects to careers

The activities helped to encourage students to think about their own career aspirations.

Careers education is an important part of the curriculum offer at Horizon campus. We help prepare our students for employment.

We also run employability courses such as the pre-internship and supported internship programmes.

You can help your young person to consider what jobs they would be interested in and plan for their future by:
