Campus update

Fresh air, fitness, and focus

With the recent spell of lovely weather, we’ve been making the most of opportunities to learn outdoors.

Mr Haji has been leading PE and sports sessions at the local park, giving learners the chance to enjoy fresh air and fitness in a different setting. Over the years, Enfield Council has invested in outdoor gyms across the borough, making it easy for everyone to stay active – for free!

The sunshine has also meant we’ve been able to run more sensory circuits outside. These sessions are designed to help regulate and organise the senses, supporting focus and wellbeing.

Each circuit includes three types of tasks:

  • Alerting tasks – to wake up the body and brain, like running laps, step-ups, or skipping.
  • Organising tasks – to support thinking and coordination, such as sorting items, completing word searches, or cutting shapes.
  • Calming tasks – to help the body relax, including colouring, listening to music, or gentle rocking.

Sensory circuits are an important part of our day and help learners feel ready to engage and learn.
