Interns Flourishing in their Roles
Since returning from the half-term break, Job Coaches have been busy helping Senior Interns prepare for and start their work placements. It’s an exciting time as we hear about their first shifts with our Inclusive Employer Partners.
Job Coach Angela shared, “We’re very impressed with our interns at Greggs. After just three shifts, they’re completing tasks independently.” Marvin added, “They’re ready to learn new tasks and take on longer shifts.”
Jon enthusiastically noted, “We’ve seen phenomenal growth in confidence—even after one shift.” While supporting Guest Services at 40 Leadenhall, he observed how an intern’s body language improved as they became familiar with people and tasks.
We also visited a new local employer partner, Whoops Wheel Fix It, with our Supported Internship Link Governor, David Goldfarb. There, we met Job Coach Pani and a Senior Intern in action. One of the co-founders, Adam, praised the intern’s progress, describing the team as “one big family” and highlighting the strong support from the Job Coaches and the wider team.
These early successes show great progress. It’s reassuring to see so many Senior Interns learning and growing at work. We look forward to sharing more updates as the programme unfolds.
