Sensory Circuits in Action!
This week, it was fantastic to see Horizon Sixth students enjoying regular sensory circuits with Mr Brown. Sensory circuits are structured activities that help students regulate their sensory input. They support anyone with sensory needs as part of a ‘sensory diet’ and follow three stages:
Designed to support regulation throughout the day, sensory circuits can improve:
Mr Brown enjoys leading the sessions and sees the difference they make: “I feel honoured to be leading the sensory circuits at Horizon Campus. It is exciting to see the positive impact they have on our learners—helping them self-regulate and engage in their lessons.”
Students agree. One said, “Sensory circuits make me feel calm and ready for my lessons.” Another shared, “I look forward to doing sensory circuits with Mr Brown. They are fun and help me get ready for my lessons. I especially enjoy the organising activities - they help me focus before going into lessons.”
Sensory circuits are already making a real difference, helping students feel calm, focused, and ready to learn every day. We can’t wait to see even more learners benefit in the weeks ahead.
