Senior Intern Parent Session at St Mary’s!

This week, we welcomed the parents and carers of our senior interns to the St Mary’s site. Our Senior Job Coach, Carline Ikoroha, led a helpful parent engagement session where families met some of the Job Coaches and the class teacher.

We also had a special guest speaker—a graduate intern who talked about his supported internship experience and how life has changed since getting a job. Families were inspired by how well he had settled into his role at a local hospital. He spoke proudly about the work he does for his community. He also shared, with a smile, that he enjoys earning his own money and treating himself to his love of fashion.

The session was a great chance for families to meet each other and share ideas. There were many valuable conversations around the room. Information was shared on a range of topics, including money management, friendships and relationships, social skills, personal hygiene, and how best to support our learners as they grow.
