Building Confidence through Communication

Our sixth form learners have been busy showcasing their communication skills as part of Functional Skills Speaking, Listening, and Communication Assessments. Over the past two weeks, some of them shared presentations on topics they are passionate about, ranging from hobbies and sports to social issues and creative interests.

As part of the assessment, learners also engaged in short discussions exploring the positives and negatives of mobile phones and social media. These conversations highlighted themes such as connectivity, creativity, wellbeing, and digital responsibility. Not only did this help to strengthen their skills for the exam, but it also encouraged thoughtful reflection and respectful discussion among peers.

The maturity, confidence, and enthusiasm shown by the pupils throughout this process have been impressive, and their hard work truly deserves to be celebrated.
