Supporting Next Steps: Our First Transitions Clinic

On Wednesday 11th February, Horizon Campus was buzzing with energy as we hosted our first Transitions Clinic in the afternoon. The event brought together a wide range of services to support our learners and their families as they begin thinking about adulthood and life after Sixth Form.

Families were able to drop in before and after their Progress Review Meetings. It was wonderful to see parents, carers, and learners exploring options, asking questions, and speaking directly with professionals.

We were joined by a fantastic selection of services, including ILDS, SENDIASS, Capel Manor College, SCAN and STAY, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, and West Lea’s own Pre‑Internship and Supported Internship teams. Having everyone in one place made it much easier for families to gather clear and helpful information.

The feedback from families was extremely positive. Many shared that it was valuable to meet so many services in a single visit and reassuring to discuss future pathways in a familiar setting. One parent said it was a great experience for their son to speak with services in an environment where he felt safe and comfortable.

Transitions play a key role in our learners’ journey as they develop independence and begin planning their next steps. We look forward to hosting more Transitions Clinics in the future to continue supporting our learners and their families.
