Supporting Interns Every Step of the Way
The Supported Internship team have been incredibly busy this term.
We hosted a Parent Engagement Day at St Mary’s, where parents met each other, shared experiences, and heard from local Job Centre partners about Universal Credit and benefits beyond education. Our graduate intern Dae-Shaun, also spoke about his journey on the programme.
Interns have been focusing on their in‑work development and working hard in their placements. Job Coaches have been agreeing job descriptions, monitoring their progress through appraisals, and helping them build their independence.
Our Junior Interns also started their work placements after February half term. They are currently doing one day a week before moving into Year 2, where their hours will gradually increase.
We even had a lovely moment when, while travelling into London for an event, we bumped into one of our ex‑learners on his way to work. It’s always a proud sight for our team to see our older learners living and working independently.
