Ready for Work

A large part of our curriculum here at Key Stage 4, is work experience.

This forms a part of our Personal Development curriculum.  In year 10, our learners have "World Of Work" days.

Our current year 11 class are have already got stuck into work experience. They are at three different supported placements.

One group is at our primary provision supporting the site team, the office team and the learners.

Students are learning about the varying hours and activities. This helps them to understand the structure of working in an educational setting. It is important for our learners to know that they can flourish in different professions!

The second group are working at Fortuna.  They are learning how to be in a factory environment. They are working in teams, focusing on their organisation and logistic skills.

An important part of factory work is understanding health and safety. This is not only beneficial to our learners in their work life, but also their everyday life.

The last group attend Redbridge Fishery. They are overseeing the grounds and supporting the maintenance of the area. This allows our learners to engage in some physical work. We wish our learners every success in their placements!
