Experiencing the World of Work
This week, Arnold Class embarked on their very first World of Work Day. What an inspiring experience it was!
The students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Greggs warehouse in Enfield. Here they gained valuable insights of work in a fast-paced logistics and food distribution environment.
During the visit, pupils explored the different areas of the warehouse. Included on the tour were the rooms where food is stored and prepared for delivery. They saw how orders are received, processed, and dispatched to Greggs shops across the region. This gave them a real-world understanding of supply chain operations and teamwork.
A particularly special moment was meeting a former West Lea pupil, who is now a successful employee at the warehouse. He shared his journey from school to employment - made possible through the internship programme. Learners heard about the skills and dedication that helped him thrive in his role. His story was a powerful reminder of what the students can achieve with the right support and opportunities.
The visit helped broaden the students’ horizons when it comes to the World of Work. It also connected classroom learning with real-life career pathways.
We’re incredibly proud of Arnold Class. They showed curiosity, enthusiasm, and respectful engagement throughout the day.
Thank you to Greggs Enfield for hosting us and to everyone who made this experience possible!
