Campus update

Dysons Road

Last half term, we focused on settling the children into routines and exploring our outdoor areas.

Young children learn best through play. So, whether they're reading, writing or getting good with numbers, we try to keep things fun. In maths, we ask children to 'build it, draw it, say it' which helps to develop their understanding.

In October, we took part in activities for World Mental Health Day. We loved bubble therapy. We blew huge bubbles using bubble pools and enjoyed popping them too!

Springfield Road

BIKEABLILTY

In October, children in years 5 and 6 took part in Bikeability to improve their cycling skills and confidence.

They started by gliding with two feet in the air, then balanced on a two-wheel bike. Next, they learnt to pedal by pushing one foot down after the other on the pedals.

Before long, they were happily racing around the Springfield playground.

LAMBOURNE END

To support their transition to Haselbury next year, our year 6 children were reunited with their old friends from year 7 on a visit to Lambourne End centre for outdoor learning.

It was amazing to see the children bravely stepping out of their comfort zone, trying activities such as caving and swamp crossing.

They worked hard as a team and had a brilliant day.

Each week, the children enjoy a number of enrichment sessions with our visiting teachers.

  • Music and choir with Elena at Springfield
  • Music and signing with Zoe
  • Dance with Angela
  • Yoga with Samara
  • Forest school with Melissa
  • Girls football funded through Enfield children’s partnership

We will be sharing photos in upcoming Spotlights and on our Twitter feed.
