World Environment Day 2024: Our land, our future.

We hope you had an enjoyable half-term.

On Wednesday 5th June, we celebrated World Environment Day.

In Forest School sessions, the children looked at how to protect seeds and plants. They  also enjoyed planting fruits and vegetables.

Then came the problem of snails and slugs! They needed to learn how to protect the leaves from being eaten by greedy minibeasts.

We've also been thinking about our land: the playground.

This week, we've set up outside games for play and lunch times. The children enjoyed the new sensory areas and activities. For example, they explored different textures using the Tuff Tray.

The children have so much fun in the playgrounds and we are proud of how they engage with everything on offer.

Learning about the environment is important for the students. It helps them to understand the link between protecting our land and our future.

Please ensure your child has suitable winter clothing for school so they can take part in outdoor learning. We recommend a coat, jumper, hat, closed shoes or trainers

We use splash suits to keep children dry when they jump in puddles!
