Campus update

Happy PRIDE month!

This week, learners have been talking about friendship during PRIDE Month.

Many of our children find making and sustaining a friendship challenging. We often see communication behaviors of pinching and scratching.

To divert from this behavior, students learn the importance of symbols, Makaton and speech.

Alongside this, we promote our 3 rules of : 'Be ready, be safe and be kind.'

A friend is someone who we can play with or talk to. Our children use Makaton and visual pictures to help them communicate with us, and each other.

Through sharing such visual aids, children build their own relationships. Independent play-time and interaction is very important for the learners emotional development.

We would love you to share how your child has shown kindness at home this week.

Please send us a photo for our kindness displays around school!

Please ensure your child has suitable winter clothing for school so they can take part in outdoor learning. We recommend a coat, jumper, hat, closed shoes or trainers

We use splash suits to keep children dry when they jump in puddles!
