Big Schools’ Birdwatch
Year 5 and 6 spent an exciting month taking part in the Big Schools’ Birdwatch. We joined thousands of primary schools across the country to find out which birds visit our playground.
We saw birds swooping, hopping, and gliding around the playground and field. The learners used iPads to take great photos of the different birds they spotted.
Back in the classroom, the learning continued. In maths, pupils created tally charts and graphs to show which birds are most common at Springfield. This information helps the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) understand which birds are doing well and which may need more protection.
It was a wonderful mix of nature, teamwork, and learning. Well done, Year 5 and 6, you’ve helped protect wildlife while having lots of fun.
