West Lea Does West End
Friday 27th June was our Transition Day, and it was lovely to see learners getting stuck in.
Our current Year 7 and 8 learners spent the day in their new classrooms, getting to know their teachers and key workers. We also welcomed our new Year 7 learners for September — including children from Springfield and external primary schools. It was the first time they had all come together.
There were games, PE sessions and plenty of time to talk and make new friends.
Our Year 9 learners visited the Learning for Life Campus. They had a great time, but the day also marked the start of their transition away from Haselbury.
On Monday 30th June, we held our Creative Day.
The sports hall became an art gallery, filled with creative work produced throughout the year. Each class also performed a short piece for parents and carers. It was heart-warming to see learners taking part with such confidence.
This year we combined the day with our summer fair. Thanks to your generous support, we raised nearly £250 for Mind Enfield, our chosen charity for the term.
