Safe Journeys and Happy Learning

This week, we learned about road safety and how to stay safe when we’re out and about—whether walking, riding in the car, or on our bikes. Our learners practised making safe choices that help keep themselves and others protected.

At our campus, we made learning about road safety playful and practical. We gained skills like -

  • Stop, Look, Listen, Think (before crossing the road)
  • Wearing bright colours (so drivers can see us)
  • Buckling up in cars
  • Wearing helmets on bikes
  • Using the Zebra Crossing safely

Every safe choice is a kind choice!

Fun Road Safety Activities to try at Home:
Here are some SEN-friendly activities to continue at home:

  1. Traffic Light Game:
How to Play - Use Red, Amber, and Green cards or coloured paper to play “Stop, Get Ready, Go!”
  2. Toy Car Crossing:
How to Play - Set up a mini road with tape and practice crossing safely with toy cars and figures.
  3. Dress Bright Challenge:
How to Play - Pick the brightest clothes you can find for a walk outside!
  4. Seatbelt Song:
How to Play – Create a fun, silly song about buckling up before you start your journey.

Share in the home/school book or on Evidence for Learning what activity you tried—we’d love to see your creative ideas!
